HB Westies | About Us

Well I have to admit, this is an exciting new adventure for us. We've never owned a West Highland White Terrier before and over this past year we have learned a lot about grooming, showing and the sport of showing. Like any sport, it has been both challenging and rewarding.

We purchased Bella from a wonderful lady named Rose Carpenter in Murray, Ky. If you would like information about Rose and her Westies, you can find the link to her Web site on our Favorite Places page.

Bella comes from a strong bloodline. Her father is Canadian Champion Professor Higgins. Her mother is Lovey Tara. She first became an International All Breed Canine Champion in April 2007 and then later in the year, Nov. 16, Bella became an American Champion in Columbus, Oh. What a day that was!!! I must say, Bella has won at several shows but there is nothing like the day you finally achieve those 15 points to become an American Kennel Club Champion.

Bella has also won a special prize outside the ring. Based on people voting, she was runner-up in the Windstream Yellow Pages Phone Book Photo Contest. Which means, she will be featured in the 2008 Windstream Phone Book.
